Career
When Nicholas Ukachukwu joined his father’s company, Nwankwo & Son Limited, he began his career as a director. He was in charge of the import and distribution of a wide range of goods, including sugar, cement, rice, and fertilizers. Ukachukwu is the founder and CEO of SNECO Group Limited, which has holdings in oil and gas, real estate, construction, agriculture, education, and media. He also founded the British Nigerian Academy, a private educational institution for pupils in kindergarten through high school.
Nicholas Ukachukwu is a highly recognized politician and founding member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in addition to being a wealthy businessman. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 1999 to represent the Bwari Abuja Municipal Federal Constituency. After being refused the PDP nomination to run for governor of Anambra State in 2006, Ukachukwu defected to the Progressive People’s Alliance.
