Akshar Rajeshbhai Patel is an Indian all-round cricketer. Axar presently plays for India in all three formats of the game and has contributed to his team’s success in numerous matches with his all-around efforts. At the BCCI’s 2024 Naman Awards, Axar won the “Best International Debut for the 2020-21 season” award after taking five wickets in his debut Test match, being the ninth Indian bowler to do so.
Career
In his second first-class encounter against Delhi in November 2013, Patel got six wickets for 55 runs in the opening innings. Selected largely as a bowling all-rounder, the left-arm spinner signed his maiden IPL deal with the Mumbai Indians ahead of the 2013 season, despite being on the bench for the whole season, the team won the title. He was a regular performer for Gujarat in the 2013/14 Ranji Trophy, scoring 369 runs at 46.12 and taking 29 wickets at 23.58. In August 2019, he was named to the India Red team roster for the 2019-20 Duleep Trophy.
Patel was signed by IPL franchise Mumbai Indians in 2013 but did not get an opportunity to play before being released.
